Childhood Summer

Pink ice cream tastes so cool

Sitting at the edge of the pool

Warm sun at my back

There is nothing that I lack

A splash of water comes my way

Give me a minute I’ll be back at play

A clean dive into the water

Playing sharks and minnows I go in for the slaughter

Sun is setting time to get dry

Get the jar ready for the firefly

Night has come I can go no more

I fall asleep content and dreaming of what tomorrow has in store.
